Cook Grabs SEDMS Win At County Line

Elm City, NC-On one of the hottest races of the season Taylor Cook provided extra heat as he dominated the field of Southeast Dirt Modifieds for a $2000 win at County Line Raceway.

15 Southeast Dirt Modified’s signed in for the second race of 2016 at County Line Raceway. In PFC Brakes pole qualifying it was Chris Arnold beating the field with a 15.182 second lap.

In Prime Electrical Solutions heat race 1 Chris Arnold dominated for the win with Gary Long pursue long Derrick Ramey for 2nd. In Owens Construction heat race 2 David Stremme got to the lead quick and stretched out his lead into a win with Ryan Ayers in 2nd. In Hoosier Racing Tire heat race 3 it was Taylor Cook winning in dominating fashion over Ryan Toole.

Off the start of the feature Arnold and Stremme would bring the field to the green but Cook made his presence known early as he jumped from 3rd to 2nd on the opening lap. One lap later Cook would dive inside of Arnold and vault to the lead. Cook’s early progress would be slowed early with 3 cautions within the first 6 laps. Off the restart Cook would regain his lead and would set sail on the field. Lap traffic would slow Cook late in the race allowing Stremme to make one last ditch effort to wrestle the lead away. Down the stretch Cook would hold on and earn his 2nd win of the Southeast Dirt Modified Series season. Stremme would follow in a close 2nd with Arnold finishing 3rd. Ryan Ayers and Derrick Ramey would round out the top 5.

Up next for the Southeast Dirt Modifieds will be Friday August 19th for a $2000 to win/$200 to start race at Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN. For more info visit www.tazewellspeedway.net
