DUSTIN MITCHELL DRIVES TO FIRST CAREER ULTIMATE SOUTHEAST VICTORY AT COUNTY LINE RACEWAY

Ultimate Super Late Model Series Report –

ELM CITY, NC – Taking advantage of race long leader Gary Dillon’s slip entering turn one on lap 29 Dustin Mitchell of Pine Level, North Carolina grabbed the lead and went on to lead the final eleven circuits to collect $4,000 for his first career Ultimate Super Late Model Series Southeast Region win. Mitchell, who won a B-Main and started from the eleventh spot, was followed to the line by a hard charging Justin Williams who started in the eighth position. Daulton Wilson, Joey Coulter, and Michael Batten rounded out the top five finishers.

Dillon grabbed the lead on the initial start with Michael Batten in tow. Outside pole sitter Kyle Hardy appeared to spin his tires on the start causing him to slip back to fourth on lap one. After a lap one yellow Dillon resumed the lead and had no serious challengers for the first several circuits and through three yellow flags. But by the time the lap 28 caution waved Mitchell had positioned himself in the second spot for the restart. When the green appeared Mitchell stayed close to the leader and when his machine pushed up entering turn one Mitchell swept by.

The night got started with local hot shoe Gary Dillon, who picked up the Davis Diesel Service Fast Time Award with a lap of 14.741 seconds in Group A of VP Racing Fuels race for the Pole qualifying. Series point leader Kyle Hardy was fastest in Group B to lock himself into the outside pole position for the 40 lap feature. Dustin Mitchell and Michael Rouse each won consolation races.

The Ultimate Super Late Model Series Southeast Region is scheduled to be back in action again on Saturday July 28th as the Series will travel to Dixie Speedway located in Woodstock, Georgia for a event paying $4,000 to win.
