Skeeter Liles Takes Home Big ARCO Restoration Thunder & Ligthning Win

What an absolutely gorgeous day & night for racing! The sun was shining all day, while a light breeze sifted through after the sun set, you couldn't have asked for a better night to see the stars of County Line Raceway.
Up first, the Super Stock 4 cylinder division lined up on the backstretch with Jason Horne & Hunter Bailey on the front row. Horne quickly took the lead as they had a drag race down the front stretch. Hunter Bailey fell back to second with John Proctor in 3rd, James Bailey 4th and Bill Winstead rounding out the top 5. Hunter Bailey would get out of shape just a tad falling back to 4th spot as Mike Hall brought out the caution with a spin in turn 2. Back green with Horne leading Proctor, James Bailey, Hunter Bailey, and Bill Winstead. Caution again on lap 4 for debris over in turn 3 and on the front stretch. Green flag, Jason Horne leading Proctor, James Bailey, Hunter Bailey, and Bill Winstead. John Proctor would challenge and take the lead from Horne on the backstretch as Hunter Bailey challenged James Bailey for the 3rd spot. Bill Winstead and Austin Holcombe were battling it out for 5th spot. James Bailey & Hunter Bailey put on quite a show as they ran side by side for almost 2 laps for the 3rd spot. Hunter Bailey would take the spot away as we completed lap 12. Caution for a spin over in turn 4 when Nevin Twiddy went around. After a brief clean up we were back green with John Proctor leading Jason Horne, Hunter Bailey, James Bailey & Bill Winstead. Bill Winstead would shoot around James Bailey to take over 4th spot, as Austin Holcombe got around James Bailey to take over 5th. Hunter Bailey got up beside Jason Horne for 2nd spot taking it as they crossed the start/finish line. Lap 17 would see James Bailey, who had been running in the 6th spot, spin over in turn 2. With 3 to go, we were back green with John Proctor bringing them to the line. The red flag would come out as James Manning suffered a mechanical failure that caused him to stop which allowed Eric Hobgood would slam into the rear of the J2. Manning would take a hard hit as he shot up the track by the turn 2 exit. After clean up, we were back green. John Proctor would bring home his 4th win of 2014. He was followed by Hunter Bailey, Austin Holcombe, Jason Horne & Bill Winstead.
Out next the PL Woodard Pure Stock V8 division with Wade Ferrell & Paul Peele leading this field to green. Wade Ferrell would take the point quickly as Gary Whitely took over second spot. Gary Whitley was all over Ferrell for the lead all the way around the track as Paul Peele, Archie Whitley & Mike Wall rounded out the top 5. Only 2 cautions would slow this 15 lap event. Wade Ferrell would win followed by Gary Whitley, Paul Peele, Archie Whitley & Mike Wall.
The always exciting, Pure Stock 4 division would see Robby Causby & Jeremy Benson on the front row. Causby would jump out in front of Benson quickly followed by Lee Hardie, Brent Atkinson and Jimmy Mills. Gary Dillon & Michael Webb, who both started at the back of the field, had moved up to 6th & 5th respectively by lap 4. Caution out for David Haggins, which would slow this jumpy field of cars. Robby Causby, Jeremy Benson, Lee Hardie, Brent Atkinson & Michael Webb rounded out the top 5 as we went back green. Michael Webb would get around Brent Atkinson to take over 4th spot bringing Gary Dillon with him. Webb & Dillon would get around Lee Hardie to take over 3rd & 4th as Jeremy Benson tried to run down the leader, Robby Causby. Webb & Dillon were there as they took the cross flags for 1/2 way. The top 4 were so close there was barely any room between them. Gary Dillon and Michael Webb were side by side for 3rd spot with Dillon taking the spot away from Webb. Caution out lap 12 for Jimmy Mills, who was overheating. Back green with 3 to go. Causby leading Benson, Dillon, Webb, Hardie. Dillon made the move on Benson to take over 2nd spot to challenge Causby for the lead. With 2 to go, they were side by side and Gary Dillon would take the point coming out of turn 2. Gary Dillon, who started 17th, would bring home his 4th win of the year. He was followed by Robby Causby, Jeremy Benson, Michael Webb and Lee Hardie.
With 17 cars lined up outside of turn 4, the ARCO Restoration blasted onto the track with Matthew Bissette on the pole & Lane Proctor on the outside. These guys would battle it out for 20 laps for the $800 purse tonight, and as stacked as the field was, it was anyone's game. Bissette would jump out front quickly followed by Lane Proctor, Cy Nelms, Jr, Skeeter Liles & Buddy Isles, Jr. Caution on lap 1 for a spin in turn 4 for Walt Gibson. Back green with Bissette leading Proctor, although Bissette would slow drastically on the backstretch allowing Proctor to get around him. Bissette would fall a few more spots as Skeeter Liles, Cy Nelms, Jr., Buddy Isles, Jr. and James Meredith rounded out the top 5. Skeeter Liles would get around Lane Proctor on lap 7. And as we were completing lap 8, Lane Proctor would suffer a mechanical issue as well. Up front, it was Skeeter Liles, Cy Nelms, Jr., Buddy Isles, Jr., James Meredith and Mark Boykin. Boykin and Meredith were battling for that coveted 4th spot, with Boykin completing the pass right before the caution came out. Back green with Liles leading Nelms, Jr., Isles, Jr., Mark Boykin and James Meredith. Matthew Bissette, who suffered some kind of issue earlier, was back in the mix as he made his way back to 5th spot. Quick caution for CJ Cascell, but we were back green with Liles continuing to lead Nelms, Jr., Isles, Jr., Boykin & Bissette. As they crossed under the checkers, it would be Skeeter Liles, Cy Nelms, Jr., Buddy Isles, Jr., Mark Boykin & Matthew Bissette.
Our final feature of the evening, the 30 lap Late Model Race. Dustin Mitchell & Christian Joyner would lead this field to the green and as they drag raced down the front stretch it would be Dustin Mitchell taking the lead. As they came around to complete lap 1, Michael Batten,  who was running in the top 5, slowed due to a flat tire in front of the rest of the field. Daniel Tucker would make contact as he had no where to go, as Steve Mendenhall spun to avoid. Daniel was unfortunately towed to the pits ending his night early. Dustin Mitchell lead Christian Joyner, Spencer Liggon, JP Cascell & Roger Lucas to the green and it wasn't long before Mitchell was lapping the field. On lap 14, the caution would come out for Dykes Maynard. Back green with Mitchell leading Christian Joyner, Spencer Liggon, JP Cascell & Roger Lucas. Mitchell continued to dominate this race as he lead the remaining laps and brought home his 2nd win of 2014. He was followed by Christian Joyner, Spencer Liggon, JP Cascell & Roger Lucas.
